Infracapital announces key appointments to position platform for future growth

Infracapital, the infrastructure equity investment arm of M&G Plc, announces key appointments and promotions as it makes changes to its team structure to build a simpler, stronger model, positioning itself for future growth.

The new team structure is designed to meet Infracapital’s ambition to build on its ‘one investment team’ approach by formally integrating its Brownfield, Greenfield and Asset Management resources under one unified and enhanced Investment Team. The team is led by Andy Matthews, who is appointed to Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and supported by Mark Chladek, who is appointed to Deputy CIO. As part of the changes, Infracapital has promoted three members of the existing Investment Team to Managing Director: Peter Mitchev, Tom Crawley, Chris Simmonds.

A separate Independent Asset Management Oversight function will continue to be led by Wael Elkhouly. A Fund Lead role for each fund has been created, providing oversight of the management of capital pools including portfolio construction, valuation and liquidity management.

CEO and Deputy CEO respectively, Co-Founders Martin Lennon and Ed Clarke will continue to lead the team and set the strategic direction of Infracapital.

Martin Lennon, Co-Founder and CEO of Infracapital, said:
“These changes support the continued evolution of Infracapital and strengthen our capabilities as we move to a more agile operating model.  The appointments and promotions are testament to the strength of the internal talent we have nurtured within the team and I wish everyone well in their new roles.

We are investing in, and working with, companies that are playing an important role in the energy transition towards Net Zero and we need to ensure we are positioned to originate deals that meet the needs of our global institutional client base. We are confident that this new structure will position Infracapital to continue to effectively capture long-term investment opportunities for our clients in essential sustainable European infrastructure as the market further matures.”
